STANDARD FABRICATION SPECIFICATIONS


Stainless Steel Pipe and Fittings

WELDING Longitudinal seams on the pipe and fittings shall be automatically welded by Tungsten Inert Gas (T.I.G.) or Metal Inert Gas (M.I.G.) method.
Circumferential welds are made either by "HELIARC" method or with metallic arc process. In the latter case, slag, weld spatter, etc., is removed. "HELIARC" method will be used only when specified by customer.
INTERIOR
GRINDING
Unless specifically called for by customer, no grinding will be done provided the interior weld is smooth, even, and not having an internal bead higher than 1/16".
SHIPPING All backing rings on spools, shall be secured to pipe-flanges to prevent damage during shipment.
MARKING All spooled items are marked in shop with drawing and item numbers - for identification purposes at job site.
In addition, the type of stainless steel used shall be clearly marked on each item.
INSPECTION Piping assemblies are inspected for dimensional accuracy. Tolerances will conform to spooling fabrication tolerance sheet.
